Someone else on Sisi brought this to my attention and I was skeptical at first, but it appears to be true - come Odyssey you will be able to use a PLEX to activate simultaneous training on two characters on the same account for 30 days. It makes perfect sense and I think it's something that a lot of people have been asking for for years. |

whats good about this??
its gonna cost the same as running another acc, that you can actually play on, have 2 cynos alts or 2 noob spys or whatever.
now we get the option to pay for 2 and only able to play whit one.
also. CCP, i thought you learned by having 2 options right next to each other. add game time and this right under each other is bound to fill up your pettion system! No, the difference is you don't have to keep a second account subscribed for, say, a cyno alt, and at the same time don't have to stop training on your main. |

Balkor Wolf wrote:Been chatting about this on the alliance forums and a question had just come to mind.
Let's say you are training up two characters through this system and while training on both of them is running the time for it runs out. Which of the character's training is going to stop? If I were CCP I'd code it so the most recent character to have hit "apply" on their skill queue would have that training stopped. |

I thought the question of "which character stops training" had absolutely nothing to do with subscriptions but rather, well, which character stops training when the dual character training expires. You can only activate dual character training for max 37 days in advance of the current date. As in, you activate it for 30 days, and then 7 days before it expires you renew it which I assume tacks another 30 days onto the end, so you're always within 37 days of dual training deactivating.
I think I agree with the above that the better solution to this problem would be to pause training for the character with less skillpoints. |

I could definitely see using this for, say, a market alt.
It's useful for any character that will only have to train for a short period of time and that doesn't have to be online at the same time as another character on the same account.
For example on my main account I could use this to train a cyno alt and to make use of the rest of the dual training period train skills for PI and hauling on this alt, for example. I won't ever need this cyno alt for James because he doesn't fly capitals, but my capital alt on a separate account could easily make use of it. |

Drachiel wrote:That said I'd like to see it made so that normally training two characters reduces training speed to 1/x, so training all three trains the three characters at a rate of 1/3. You can do this already... train for X number of days on character 1, pause training on character 1, train for X number of days on character 2, pause training on character 2, etc. |

Also, to Riverini: Not that I mind terribly, but it would have been nice to have been asked if you could use my images and mention me in your article on EN24. I'd rather not find out about that sort of thing through someone else. |

I get it, you don't want to log on both, but... what if someone else wants to since they are paying the same price? If you want to log onto both at the same time, then you need to make a second account.

Things you can use this for: Cyno alts PI alts Market alts Industry alts Hauling alts Supercapital sitter alts (different account from your supercap char but the same account as something else you want to train at the same time)
And probably a lot more uses. Really any alt that requires only a certain amount of training at which point you stop, and which doesn't need to be online at the same time as any of your other characters on a given account. |

Well what I'm really curious about is why people are complaining about a new feature that they consider useless. Okay, so it's useless? So what? Don't use it then. |

If it took more than a single developer-hour I would be very surprised. If anybody is actually complaining that this is a waste of dev time then they should at least be equitable and complain about lunch breaks, video dev blogs, and the fact that they can talk to each other outside of meetings. |

Currently if you roll up an alt using a 21-day trial plus a buddy system plex, you currently get an alt for 51 days free.
I don't see how paying for an alt on the same account is anywhere near worth a plex unless you get those first 51 days free too, without having to jump through the buddy system hoops. Are you daft? You don't see how having an alt you can train for 30 days and keep indefinitely without having to pay any more after the initial PLEX is superior to having an alt you can train for 51 days but have to keep paying for every month that you want to use it? |

Vintah wrote:This is such a troll feature.
1. If you want a limited SP pilot, such as a cyno alt, refiner etc. Just use your buddy key to activate a trial. You get 21+30 days gametime on your alt and also +30 days of gametime to your main.
51 days is enough to train most of the "trash alts". Even if not, it takes a while before the profit of an alt account starts to neglect towards dual training. And then after those 51 days are over, you can't use that alt anymore. What a solid plan. |

It is, however, a PLEX sink. Which may make it more difficult for people to maintain their subscriptions by PLEX. On the other hand whenever PLEX prices go up, people are more inclined to buy them from CCP to finance their in-game activities, so it partially balances out. It all depends on where the new equilibrium is. |
